Salmon Dissection

In winter, Nisqually River Education Project staff can visit your school for a salmon dissection. These dissections are run as a demonstration. Our staff will dissect one salmon under a document camera while sharing information about the salmon’s unique adaptations and life history. Students will be provided with gloves to touch and interact with the salmon and its organs depending on their comfort and level of interest. Salmon are generously donated by the Nisqually Indian Tribe’s Kalama Creek Hatchery and Clear Creek Hatchery.
